The field for the campout is a large open field just outside the front entrance for the park. 5 of us checked out the field last year and found the skies to be about 6th magnitude without much sky dome. On the magnitude meter, it registered 21.21, which is the best reading I have obtained so far on the meter in the St. Louis area. I don't yet have readings for Whiteside or Danville for comparison. It was a good time last year and I expect this years party to be even better if the skies cooperate!
