The field for the campout is a large open field just outside the front entrance for the park. 5 of us checked out the field a couple of weeks ago and found the skies to be about 6th magnitude without much sky dome. On the magnitude meter, it registered 21.21, which is the best reading I have obtained so far on the meter in the St. Louis area. I don't yet have readings for Whiteside or Danville for comparison. I look forward to this event being a large success for a weekend campout and star party!
