Photos from our initial launch of the library binocular program. More than 100 binoculars have been distributed to St. Louis area libraries for checkout by library patrons just like a book.

Eighteen volunteers modified ten telescopes which will be added to the Metro St. Louis Library Telescope Program. All four St. Louis amateur astronomy clubs participated:
The telescopes are destined for St. Louis Public Library and Washington, Public Library (new) in Missouri and Scott Air Force Base (new) and Caseyville Public Library (new) in Illinois.
The St. Louis Astronomical Society joined other area organizations to donate used solar glasses to Astronomy Without Borders (AWB). AWB will recycle the glasses to South America and Asia for use by school children in future total eclipses. More than 20 volunteers worked together on October 6-7, 2017 to quality check and pack over 23,000 solar glasses for donation to the program. St. Louis County Library donated space at their Grand Glaize Branch. The glasses were delivered to Explorer Scientific in Springdale, Arkansas where they will be stored until needed.
Photos from a "Solar Eclipse Expo" held on June 16-17, 2017 at the Greensfelder Recreational Complex at Queeny Park. Nearly 5,000 people attended this expo which was designed to raise awareness in St. Louis of the August 2, 2017 Total Solar Eclipse.
Volunteers with the St. Louis Astronomical Society and other organizations prepared 46 telescopes for distribution to the Metro St. Louis area program.
The St. Louis Astronomical Society joined other groups to host a booth an air show held at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport on May 13-15, 2016. The air show and our booth was well attended by the public. Handouts and demonstrations related to astronomy, the library telescope program and the August 21, 2017 were provided by volunteers.
