Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (local)
The Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (ASEM) is an astronomy club based in St. Charles County, Missouri. Monthly meetings are held in the Weldon Springs Interpretive Center and Public Telescope Viewing sessions are held at the Broemmelsiek Park Astronomy Site on Friday evenings. Both activities are open to members and the public alike.
ASEM offers family friendly educational activities, outreach and special interest groups to promote better understanding in the science of astronomy. A monthly newsletter is published that details group events, individuals, and upcoming activities. The group is an active member of the Mid-States Region of the Astronomical League and has links with many other similar organizations across the mid-west. River Bend Astronomy Club (local)
The River Bend Astronomy Club serves amateur astronomers from Southern Illinois and the St. Louis Metropolitan area. The RBAC is a member of the Astronomical League and registered as a member of the North Central Region of the Astronomical League.
Members enjoy observing events, educational programs, and each others company. Public outreach programs include public telescope viewing sessions, workshops, and lectures to requesting organizations, schools and youth groups.
